About Something Like Life
| ‘Something Like Life…’ is a comic about… well, honestly, it’s hard to explain what it’s about. It takes place in the future where the world is a much goofier place. You may notice, though, that the comics seem to stray from one another from time to time and while I had a story in my head while doing the original strips for the newspaper, I decided it was more important to keep things light. So while there is an overarching story, there is some randomness thrown in for good measure. The ’story’ of SLL encompasses every comic on the site, except any that say ‘Tales from the 2nd Dimension’. Those will eventually be moved into the gallery, as they’re stand-alone comics. I will periodically go through and sweep off all comics that don’t fit into the coherent ’story’ of SLL. Also, all of the ’strip comics’ are (for the most part, as I will sweep some of those away too…) considered cannon and just a ‘pre-cursor’ of events to the ‘taller’ comics.

Joe is a typical guy with an atypical life. He attends the local university and works in a local IT firm doing tech support part time. He majors in ‘Video Games’ at the local university and spends most of his time studying at home, when not with friends. While he tolerates his major, he actually isn’t a gamer and has a tough time coping with it. He is currently in a relationship with Kris. |

Tom is…unique. He is the epitome of goofy, all contained in a soft shell. He and Joe have known each other since they started college and that is most likely why he is tolerated. He has a fairly absent mind, but for some reason, due in part to his looks (I’m sure), girls will flock to him. He doesn’t always know the correct way to say things, but he is genuinely a good person. |

Kris would be the ‘girl next door,’ after she kicked her ass and took her place. Seriously though, Kris works at the local Coffee Bucks and genuinely loaths it. She can’t stand it when random guys hit on her because she’s very assertive and would hit on the anywho she liked and not let the ‘conventional values’ of relationships get in the way. She honestly adores Joe, but she’s got a few ghosts she’s dealing with. |
